FORTNITE STREAMS

One of the main reasons why Fortnite has increased in popularity, and still do, is due to many skilled players live streaming the game – so called streamers. Another reason is that a lot of famous athletes and musicians have been displaying their skill and love for the game. The list of celebrities playing Fortnite is long and includes soccer player Zlatan Ibrahimovic and rapper Drake. Fortnite streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins broke streaming platform Twitch.tv’s all previous records when he played the game together with Drake one night in front of 600 000 concurrent viewers.

FORTNITE STREAMERS

The term “streaming” refers to a person sending live when he or she is gaming and started as a phenomenon in the early 2000s. As the gaming industry and esports community has increased, so has live streaming of games. With platforms such as Twitch.tv and YouTube, live streaming today is bigger than ever and has brought many gaming profiles to global fame.

By watching Fortnite streams, a new player to the game can get a feel for the game and how it works. Streaming is also useful for average or frequent players as they can learn tips and tricks from the best players in the game. Being a popular Fortnite streamer doesn’t necessarily equate to being the best. Many of the top streamers are often considered to be very entertaining and funny to watch as well, and many can make a living out of it.

WHERE CAN I FIND FORTNITE STREAMS?

  • Twitch.tv
Twitch is the leading platform when it comes to live broadcasting of gameplay. In recent years, Twitch has also been used to stream other activities such as making crafts, playing music, or live vlogging. The site started in 2011, and was acquired by Amazon for 970 million dollars in 2014. It has since increased continuously, and today more than 2 million users broadcast each month, with 15 million active users daily
  • YouTube Gaming
The Google-owned platform YouTube stood by as the rival platform Twitch rose to popularity. Eventually, in 2015, the urge to develop something that could attract the gaming community back became to big and later that year they released their platform YouTube Gaming. The site is home to primarily gaming clips, but also has a lot of users broadcasting live. Although Twitch is considered the main platform for popular users, it’s not unusual that creators are broadcasting on both platforms simultaneously to reach as many viewers as possible.
